Why this must be read:
I read this story ages ago and I always remember it when I think of Methos. Never has a one off throwaway line given rise to so much speculation. Methos says he was married 68 times. Meet one of his spouses, Yetta. This story works almost as observer fic -- it shows just a slice of Methos's life at one point in his history, and the impression he made, and the lasting memory he left behind. Charming and funny. A nice mid-week treat. :D
"Eh? Vat you are saying? I don' hear so good."
"I said, 'who's that in the picture, Grandma?" The young woman pointed to a worn photo, black and white of course, in which could be seen a tall, beak-nosed man squinting in the sun, his arm protectively arranged around the much smaller, and much younger Yetta.
"Oh him?!" Grandma Yetta said, her old eyes widening. "No-goodnik!" But she was smiling as she said it.
