Why this must be read: Because it's the best creation myth written so far. In this one, Nsync start out as a group of angels working together, but become human and form a boyband to spread the love more effectively.

Lance shifted a bit, and flexed his wings.

"Will you quit wriggling around?" Justin asked.

"Sorry."

Justin sighed heavily. "No, you're right. There have to be better ways to spend the afternoon than this."

"Better than carrying out God's work?"

"Well...no, of course not. But there has to be a—a more efficient way to do it. The kid was supposed to be here an hour ago. We could've guilt-tripped a couple adulterers and been back by now."

"I tried to contact a cherub," Lance said. "Twice. I left a message."

Justin snorted. "Yeah, like they're gonna call back for something like this. And why should we have to ask, anyway? Someone upstairs should be able to keep the schedules up-to-date."

"I'm sure they're doing their best," Lance said. "It's free will, I suppose."

"I guess. But it's getting worse. Half the mortals on the list yesterday were someplace else, 'cause no one keeps track of them properly." Justin waved his hand at the TVs. "Man, this is what I was talking about last month with the other guys. We gotta innovate. That should be us, on the screen there. Instead of saving one soul at a time—if we can even find 'em—just imagine if I could speak to thousands of teenagers at once. Millions, even!"

Lance snorted. "Of course. I'm sure that Gabriel will let you incarnate as a—" He peered more closely at the screen. "A Boyz when you can't even stick with a simple resist temptation assignment."

Justin scowled. "They're called 'boybands', idiot. I'm not saying I should join them. I should have my own band, obviously, with my own music. Think of the good we could do!"
