Love, the Missing Word by Sarah Kiley (PG)
Fandom: THE X-FILES
Pairing: Mulder/Scully
Length: long
Author on LJ: unknown
Author Website: unknown
Why this must be read: Mulder and Scully get drafted to fight in World War III. Also, absence makes the heart grow fonder. I love the idea of Mulder and Scully in wartime. This fic is far from perfect, but it is a fun and interesting read that will stick with you for a long time, and there are some good original characters. I really enjoyed and was thoroughly drawn into this fic. I am going to warn you right now though, DO NOT read the epilogue/sequel, The Found Word. Two words: Fox Junior.
President Clinton had put the draft into effect for all men between the ages of twenty-five and forty. Because of special circumstances, all nonessential law enforcement officers had been included in the draft. The X-Files had been considered nonessential, their cases falling into the
violent crimes section.
And so her partner, Fox Mulder, had been drafted to the war.
