Why this must be read: Rare are the long, in-depth fics that manage to balance action/plot, various characters, and relationships successfully; "Bone Deep" is one of them. Written for the
heroes_bigboom of 2007, the variety of characters and relationships will satisfy both het and slash shippers. The fic is epic, rotating POVs and storylines, but organically rather than schizophrenically; the psychological drama - one of the best qualities of the story - is top-notch. This is definitely one of the most inventive and creative fics in the Heroes fandom. (If you like it, there's a Claude/Peter/Claire-focused sequel: "Skin Tight.")
She came back to this bridge because she was finally realizing that it didn’t matter what kind of powers you had, you could never really turn back the clock. Not even Hiro Nakamura, wherever he was now. He could travel in time, but he couldn’t make everything go back to the way it was before. You were always going to know what happened. It was always going to change you.
