Why This Must Be Read: Literally could be a moment from the show. Funny, yes, but also featuring a rare glimpse of Shawn acting like a mature human being. (Don't worry, it doesn't last long. I couldn't stand that). Something this story does very well is balance Shawn's occasional maturity with his usual immaturity without getting heavy-handed or obvious, like the show. Here Shawn has done something not just naughty but wrong and when confronted with this fact spends a day avoiding dealing with it--and a rightfully pissed-off Lassiter.

Shawn's real feelings toward the Lass are fantastically light, but this isn't fluff. Shawn still has faults, and he still sees every adorkable obsessive/overly intense thing about Lassiter. Then his stomach does a weird little thing anyway.
