It's been a good month, folks - driving the Marvel Crack Van has been a blast and a half. Thanks for riding along, yeah?
To wrap up in style, I present a lovely Runaways* fixit!fic (the thing with Gert, yes, that thing) - Chase makes a deal another deal, Gert wears fishnets, Nico shreds a mean guitar, and they're all still runaways. I adore Chase in this - his love for Gert comes shining through, as does his extreme... Chase-ness - the dorkiness, the dude-iness, and the sacrifice are all here in spades.
Later, while Gert was still recovering from the other thing he was really good at doing with his tongue, Chase asked, “This is gonna sound kind of out of the blue, but... Are you happy?”
“Why, are you about to piss me off?” Gert looked fantastic, spread out on the dark purple sheets with her hair all tangled and her cheeks bright red. Chase wished he could take a picture of her like that, but she'd shove the camera right up his ass if he was stupid enough to try.
“No, I'm serious.” Chase moved so that he was sitting cross-legged on the bed next to her. “Are you happy right now, with the band and everything, just the way it is?”

* Speaking of Runaways, I never did manage to finish my overview for the series [winces] and for that I apologize. If future van drivers want to pick up the slack, I'd be happy to help.
