Why this must be read: This is a heart-breaking look at Scully's life during early season eight. You know, the life we didn't get to see much on the series. The life where she mourns the loss of her partner, loses weight instead of gains it, and worries everyone who cares about her. Her Scully is depressed, falling apart before our eyes and refusing to allow anyone to get close enough to help her. Kel isn't known for writing angst, but when she does, it hurts. The Gunmen play a major part in this fic, as does Mrs. Scully.
