Why this must be read: Not only is this one of the most beautifully written stories I've ever read, but this fic manages the nigh impossible task of achieving believable, happy-ending Mylar. Not that everything has been white-washed away; it's just that now the impediments to their relationship are much wider in scope than "you killed my father". Returning them to India in a post season 2 AU, the imagery here is gorgeous, and the resolution is perfectly plotted. This is one that will hopefully leave you with a happy ache in your heart.

There are many reasons, actually, why he has Mohinder. Many reasons why he stays. To keep him focused, of course; to remind him of the new person he’s become, or trying to become, in any case. But he’s also with Mohinder because Mohinder has an accent that curls out of his mouth like smoke, and strong, brown fingers that sift through Sylar’s hair, and feet that arch when he comes. He stays because Mohinder is the only one who can stop him, if he needs to be stopped, and he’s the only one who’ll kiss him, if he needs to be kissed. Sylar doesn’t leave because -- how could he? He has no other way to make amends.
There are fewer reasons for Mohinder to stay with him.
