Why this must be read: 

I've thought long and hard before reccing this little series of fics because, as the warning (points above) states, this is BDSM. And, make no bones about it,  these fics are hard to read.  Not because they're full of kinky bondage sex - they're not - but because of the exploration of the deeprooted emotional and psychological needs of Gene and Sam that Mikey writes so beautifully, forcing the reader to not only understand but accept and approve of the Dom/sub relationship between the characters.

The first two parts are written from Sam's POV as he struggles to understand what Gene is actually requiring of him and the second two are Gene's POV of the same events, delving into the emotional maelstrom that is the essential Gene.

Stellar writing and Mikey's sensitive handling of the relationship dynamic, lifts these fics way above and beyond the norm and I'll hold my hand up here and say that these are my favourite fics, by anyone, in any fandom, ever.
