Prelude to Destiny by AnotherDreamer (PG)
Fandom: HARRY POTTER
Characters: Lily/James, Remus, Sirius, Peter, Others
Length: 298,502 words
Author on LJ:
anotherdreamer5
Author Website: The Unknowable Room, Fanfiction.net
Why this must be read:
This is one of those fandom classics. I haven't read it in at least a year, but I still remember it and it's highly reccomended among Lily/James shippers (though I think it would be enjoyable even if you didn't ship them). The author uses a lot of OC's to make this fic work, but she manages to write them in a way that even I, a confessed OC hater, can like them. Prelude to Destiny spans the Marauder's sixth year and beyond, but from what I can remember, the main focus is Lily and her friends.
I'd also like to point out that Sirius Black's characterization in this is one of the best I have ever read. He's not goofy like many Marauder-era writer's tend to make him out to be, but he is funny. And his upbringing, as much as he may hate it, does shine through a bit.
