Why this must be read: An insanely good fic where the author has dared to step out of her comfort zone to write with a different tone and an unusual style. It deals really well with how broken apart mentally Sylar is at the end of the fourth volume and how Luke responds to that, working in their twisted relationship of hurting and helping each other along. Extra kudos goes tomissbreese for taking on a scene (Luke meeting the unhinged version of his idol) that many want to see, but not many have tried to write.

So, it’s not a coincidence that Luke’s squatting in some apartment right in the heart of Sylar’s home town. That’s honest, that’s true, but! under no circumstance does that mean he’s sitting about daydreaming on the possibility of turning a corner and finding Sylar waiting for him. He hasn’t been hanging out past bedtime hoping to catch a glimmer of that self-proclaimed force of nature and he’s certainly not been entertaining the notion that Sylar’s gonna look him up in some catalogue of mutants and turn up on his doorstep one night.
He hasn’t.
But, c’mon. Even if he’s maybe thought about it a bit, he never expected to come out of the bathroom one night and find Sylar just there in his living room.
Or bedroom.
It’s hard to tell with these two room dives.
