Every fandom has pivotal episodes that authors and readers return to again and again. The third season cliff-hanger, 'Janus List,' in which Colby Granger - corn-fed all American, military hero, straight-shooter, classic good guy Colby - is revealed as a traitor selling secrets to the Chinese, and the fourth season opener, 'Trust Metric' are those kinds of episodes.

'After Math' is a sequence of very short vignette's - part poetry, part evocative prose, part stream of consciousness - that explore Colby's thoughts after 'Trust Metric.' You really need to have seen the episodes, or at least to have read summaries, to understand.
