Why this must be read:
Summary: The Seekers of Vos have a plan--and it's taken millions of years to get to the point.
May I say that this fandom's tendency to produce serial standalones that build to a large epic plays merry havoc with the 'completed' requirement of this comm? This story is a completed part of one of those WIP epics. This courtship fic is from early in the Oppression Arc of the absolutely incredible Nine Rings of Vos.
If you already read TF fic, then you probably have read the Rings 'verse. If you (like me) gave it a pass because of the sheer number of stories in the series, then give this 2-parter a shot. Sanjuno's fanon is so compelling many other writers use it, and you do NOT want to miss out on this wonderfully inventive series. This is one of those fandom classics that everyone should read.
I'm not saying it is perfect--there are any number of spots that could use a little going over--but it is nevertheless a very satisfying read. Even if you don't understand the snippet you started from, reading all the other bits build to a whole.
I picked the courtship story since it is completed, and can stand alone.
