Can you believe it? Here we are at the end of this gargantuan rec set! I don't know about all of you, but I need a gin and tonic and a bit of a lie down. :)

I hope you've had fun this month; it's certainly been a pleasure for me to share all these favourites with you. I always enjoy an excuse to go back and rewatch fantastic vids.

Why this vid kicks ass: I'm finishing up this set with what is, perhaps, the best loved songvid tribute to rare fandoms: eruthros and thingswithwings's ode to the mega fic exchange, Yuletide. It has every pairing you can conceive of, and a few you probably can't, and it's so lovingly put together it will leave you both awestruck at the brilliance of it and smiling with happiness. It's that kind of vid.

I've got to second Ceares' comment on your recs. You've done a yeoman's service in posting so many, especially during this busy time of year. It's been quite hectic for me and haven't had time to do more than scan your entries and watch one or two (the meta on vidding was great!). However, I'm going to have a boatload of good viewing in January thanks to you. It will be a great way to kick off the new year.

I hope you decide to make it an annual tradition to do Songvid Oddities every December from now on. ::giving you a standing ovation::

Thank you! I'm so glad you mentioned the meta; I always like to include something a bit different, and it's hard to know if people will enjoy it.

I'm not sure if I'm up for Songvid Oddities every year; it's nice to alternate. I enjoyed doing Merlin last December, and Anthropomorfic three years ago. But I may well feel up for another giant rec set by December 2010, and there are always so many awesome vids, so you never know. :)

Well you went above and beyond this year, so we'll have plenty of vids to tide us over, as well as access to interesting vidders to investigate. I'd forgotten which one I looked at but on their page were several more that would have fit the category and looked great.
