Why this must be read:
There are literally hundreds of fics about Mulder and Scully and what happens to them after "The Truth," and so very, very few about poor John and Monica. I mean, what happens to those that stand up with our favorite agents? This fic is a lovely little piece that tells us. It is a quiet, almost bittersweet moment with Monica and John and gives us a small glimpse into what it might have been like for them. Even if you aren't big fan of these two, the author's quiet, effective style just draws you in and keeps you reading.
