Why this must be read: This is a completely awesome story with captivating and well-rounded characters. While the main story is Arthur/Merlin, the rest of the cast is by no means ignored. The bits with Will are alternately hilarious and heartbreaking. Morgana's struggles with her career and romances are very true to life. The relationship between Gwen and Lance is realistic, as are the problems they face. This is definitely a story that I'll be coming back to time and time again.
It always goes the same too; for an entire week and a half there’s the same routine. Arthur is thinking about how much he’s tired of Merlin’s face, or of people mentioning Merlin, and then suddenly Merlin’s there. So Arthur tries to talk to him, because if he’s going to latch onto Arthur’s friends like a barnacle, he might as well attempt some politeness.
Yet somehow, whenever this occurs, Arthur manages to say something that sets Merlin off, which makes Merlin say something that sets Arthur off (or it goes in reverse), and they end up arguing. Which would be fine, except that Merlin is quite good at arguing and Arthur ends up getting flustered and unable to properly form a good come-back. It’s only fine since he seems to occasionally do the same to Merlin.
