This will be my last rec for February, and I’m finishing with one of my all-time favourites. I had a great time doing this, I hope you enjoyed the recs!

Why this must be read:
I don’t think many in the Spock/Uhura corner of fandom are unaware of this story-it’s often dubbed the definitive fic for the pairing, and for good reason. yahtzee63’s characterizations are impeccable, and her attention to detail and additions she makes to what we know about life in the Academy make for a very engaging and believable reading experience. The depiction of the developing relationship and the various obstacles along the way had me at the edge of my seat throughout, even though I already knew how it all ended-you don’t so much read this fic as immerse yourself in it. If you only read one story with this pairing, let it be this one.
