I Painted My Face, But Not for War, by santousha. (R)
Fandom: TORCHWOOD
Pairing: Ianto/Toshiko, slight mention of Jack/Ianto & Owen/Gwen
Length: ~ 2.500 words
Author on LJ:
santousha
Author Website: No website that I know of.
Why this must be read:
Those are Ianto and Tosh in all their messed up glory. I like how their own problems are only a part of the mess that is Torchwood. I really loved their interaction, how they try to connect. Both characterizations are spot on, and my heart aches for them.
She orders a whiskey at the bar and Ianto a pint, and with their drinks in hand they head to an empty table. Upon sitting down, Ianto downs his pint immediately, only setting it down when the glass is half empty. Toshiko watches the golden liquid in her glass for a minute, swirling the ice cubes before taking a sip. She lifts her gaze to survey the room again, before resting her eyes on the bar.
