Why this must be read: because pretty much anything thatllassah writes is awesome. She has a way with words that transcends storytelling and moves into the realm of art.
Here she writes of Billie, daughter of Mary-the-Fan. Billie, who is often suspected of being Billy's offspring, or possibily even Joe's. Billie, who grows up haunted.
She first sees him when she has chicken pox, a fractious fever-dream, soothed away by a cold cloth on her forehead. She recognises him, too, even with the haze that seems to cloud her thoughts. He was there, with other people, in a crowded room, with a man who made a monster out of a sandwich.
