The Parting Glass by Aloysia Virgata (NC-17)
Fandom: THE X-FILES
Pairing: Mulder/Scully
Length: one-shot
Author on LJ:
aloysiavirgata
Author Website: X-Files Fanfiction by Aloysia Virgata
Why this must be read:
The infamous "hallway scene" in the middle of Fight The Future has been rewritten by X-Files fans a million different ways. Aloysia recently took on this scene at the behest of a fellow fan who had one an auction for one of her stories. Never to do things by halves, Aloysia took this task on with aplomb. What delighted me about this story is that sure, Mulder and Scullly finally got that kiss that was threatened in the hallway, but Aloysia didn't try to change the entire course of the X-Files (or even the movie) as most stories do.
This story is rated NC-17 for adult situations and the relationship between the two is the focal point of the story so while entirely enjoyable if you scroll through the more explicit parts, you will miss out on much of the story.
This is a lovely vignette that takes that kiss and runs with it before returning us back to right where we were in the movie.
