It Happened One Night by Scribe (PG-13)

It's the last Friday of the month, and that means... it's Friday Night Drive-In! Got your popcorn and snacks all ready? Okay, here's the thing: I don't know for vids. I don't know how to post them. So instead of a vid rec, I'm reccing a Sentinelized Movie tonight. How 'bout them apples (as my dear old dad likes to say)? *g*

Fandom: THE SENTINEL
Pairing: Jim/Blair
Length: I'll guess about 75k?

Why this must be read:

This Sentinelized version of the 1934 movie of the same name is an absolute delight. Scribe is a great and wickedly fun writer, with a lot of versatility. But what I *really* love about this story is the dialogue. She captures the classic studio-trained voices of the 1930s superbly, and has all the nuances and slang pitch-perfect. You can *hear* this story as if you were watching a movie, and the black-and-white pictures used to illustrate it (courtesy of Patt Rose) give it that little visual edge to enhance the feeling. The story itself is a piece-of-fluff romantic comedy, and in Scribe's hands it's a real hoot. Drive up, adjust your speaker in the window, and enjoy!
