Why this must be read:

This story is a single part of an expansive series called Here's Us Together. Earlier sections of this series have been recced here before, but there's something incredibly unique about People Come Around which makes it the stand-out story in the series.

Stories about Turtle are few and far between, much less one which takes place entirely from his viewpoint. While this story chronicles the challenges Eric and Vince face in their continuing attempt to maintain their precarious relationship, readers get in-depth access to the world Turtle inhabits. Far from being an extra, Turtle shines as a leading man.

Turtle's characterization is absolutely spot-on, from his hilarious interactions with Drama to his quiet moments of revelation. The author's portrayal walks the line between Turtle's capacity for self-interest and his genuine respect for friendship, creating a story so authentic that one wonders why the Entourage writers couldn't have included such depth and range in the show itself. Love him or hate him, readers will inevitably come to understand everything that makes Turtle exactly who he is.
