Why this must be read:
Like many fans, I have a lot of misgivings about Season 9. However, I really enjoy the freedom of post-series fics to show all the different ways things could have gone for Mulder and Scully. This one is particularly interesting; it's a little different, but still grounded in the characters we know and love. I really enjoyed reading this version of the people they became.
I'm also a sucker for a good third-person POV, and Leyenn's Skinner is sharp and insightful.
