Why this must be read:
Smile Scully is a series of short fics written by a small group of authors and centering around a photograph theme. Each piece is lovely in its own right, and I highly recommend reading the whole thing. There's so many wonderful images and emotions captured in each piece, I could honestly rec any of them here. However, my (current!) favorite is #16. (I'm also feeling quite fond of ##s 9 and 15 today.) It's lyrical while firmly rooted in the everyday, and the last line gets me every time.
