At last! This WIP was finally finished just in time for me to rec it for this month. I'd almost lost hope it would ever be completed, so I'm delighted to share it with you all. I'm always interested in Mulder's story arc in the latter parts of season 8, and this lovely story blends a great exploration of his emotional path into the background of a tense and interesting case file. The whole thing fits seamlessly into canon, and reads like an old-school fic. They just don't make them like this anymore!
