Why this must be read: This is an absolute HOOT of an AU. Vamps, werewolves, and assorted thingies have been done before, but not quite like this. The author is pretty much fearless. So much of canon is twisted and spun on its head and filtered through a psychedelic lens, and it's awesome. Right off the bat, you read the description and think, "Wait, Ezra, who arguably can be considered a type of blood-sucker, is the werewolf and at-one-with-nature Vin is the vampire?" YES. Just wait until you get to the part about Chris and Buck. It's genius. It's all genius. Go read it. I just wish it were longer. Vin and Ezra spend so much circling around each other, then suddenly they're friends. It would have been nice to see them establish trust.

The werewolf stood up, placing his now empty glass back on the bar. "I believe we may have gotten off on the wrong foot," he said. "As much as I enjoy trading barbs with someone as obviously verbose as yourself, I simply do not have the time to continue this conversation. It was, however, a sheer delight to meet you."

He turned around, and Vin considered the possibility of snapping the creature's neck as he had threatened.

"I really wouldn't try it," he added as he walked towards the door. The words were barely more than a whisper, but Vin could hear them without a problem. "But if you ever have the desire to partake in an actual conversation, please let me know. I'm sure you'd be able to find me again."

As the werewolf left the bar, Vin swallowed the last of his drink and followed.
