Sighting by Halotolerant (PG)
Fandom: THE PROFESSIONALS
Pairing: Bodie/Doyle
Length: 2600 words
Author on LJ:
halotolerant
Author Website: Unfortunately, Halo has only written a few Pros stories so far. *g* They can be found here and here.
Why this must be read:
Over the course of the series we learn a few facts about the lads’ past, even meet a small handful of the people who populated it but a lot of the details are still missing. Not surprisingly, this has led to a lot of fan fiction attempting to fill in those details.
Here, Halo does that beautifully, filling in the details of what caused a teenaged Bodie to join the Merchant Navy, as Bodie and Doyle are sent on a thankless job to a rain-slicked quayside.
All those years ago – nearer to thirty now than twenty, and wasn’t that enough to sober you – the sea had looked like this, threatening almost, the bubbles in the wake of the cargo ship leaving a path behind him like the dotted line that traced a hero’s journey in a children’s book.

I really love Halo's work, she's written some of my favourite LoM stories too. *g*
