Why this must be read: This is a non-AU J2 or you know as non-AU can it be with the boys ending up together. The writer takes into consideration all the little details of the 2 main male protagonists and then writes a wonderful story around them, involving friends and family. If there was ever a story that I would want to be true in RL it would be this! It showcases some of the most amazing and silly sides of the boys, be it that they are half-straight (except gay for each other), stubborn, dedicated to their families, huge dorks and can we just replace canon with this already? :) And honestly people should dare Jensen or make him promise to do something, cause he keeps his promise *g*

So when the radio hosts of Vancouver’s own ‘The Beat’ asked him, “So, we hear you’re single now?”, Jensen nodded and confirmed that he had in fact been single for several months, which seemed to give the hosts unspoken permission to keep going.
“And you were with the gorgeous Danneel Harris for two years?”
Jensen nodded, already thinking of ways to get out of the current subject. “Almost three, yeah. We just wanted different things.”
And then they brought up the ‘M’ word.
“Well, hear that, ladies? Our very own local Jensen Ackles is back on the market. You reckon if we found you the perfect match, would you marry her?”
Jensen laughed, “I don’t know. I don’t see myself as the marrying type. And I doubt you could find me my perfect match.”
Ben, one of the hosts, turned smug. “Betcha we could.”
Matt, the other host, tried a different approach, “Your parents are happily married aren’t they?”
Jensen nodded, proud and warm at the thought of his family. “Yes, they are. Happily married 39 years now.”
“And growing up in that environment, you didn’t ever want a happy, long-lasting marriage of your own?”
Jensen found himself being talked around to the idea, thinking that maybe, just maybe, he needed a shove in the right direction; that maybe he just needed to relax and open himself up to the idea of having a life-long companion, the joining of his family with another.
The hosts mentioned a ‘Mystery Wedding’ that had happened several years ago that had been all over the news. A man who had wanted to get married had been part of a contest to find him the perfect bride. His family, after much deliberation, had picked him a bride out of a list of candidates, and the couple met at the altar and got married.
“And they are still happily married today, Ben.”
“With two children, Matt.”
“With a third on the way, if I’m not mistaken,” Matt added.
Ben turned to the microphone, “What do you think, listeners? Should we have ourselves our own little contest? Who out there would marry Jensen Ackles? Give us a call here at The Beat and we’ll resume this after these messages!”
After some embarrassing fan girlish phone calls from listeners, several on-air proposals from ladies who sounded old enough to be his grandmother and an inappropriate offer from a gay male listener, Jensen said that if his family was behind it, he would participate.
It was mid-morning the next day when Jensen’s mobile phone rang on set. It turned out to be none other than his very own momma, who was squealing into the earpiece excitedly about the idea of Jensen getting hitched. Jared laughed continuously for the next twenty minutes.
Apparently, Jensen’s mother had been listening to his radio interview online and had phoned the station about it. The contest was set - potential bride entries would be collected over the next month, and the family would get to work in finding him his perfect partner. Jensen got the feeling that he’d made a huge ill-informed decision.
