Why this must be read:

I’m not really a fan of slash in this fandom for the simple reason that I just can’t see it happening. But every now and then, a fic comes along and plays with the ideas of sexuality on a larger scale than Earth as a whole can properly fathom.

In a way, this is one of those fics. Set sometime between the end of Life, et al and the beginning of So Long etc, it’s a brief little look at Arthur’s state of mind whilst on prehistoric Earth, and Ford’s efforts to keep him from doing something monumentally stupid.

Yeah, I can think of... two people, I think, who know the fandom I got picked to write for.

It's a very good fandom, but yeah.

Mine has a small, but very insular fandom. I think a lot of the smaller Brit fandoms are like that though - lots of crossover with other fandoms that may or may not be simiar.

For example I know a lovely gal who shares the following fandoms with me: Hot Fuzz (and to a lesser extent Shaun and the RPS stuff), Top Gear, QI, The IT Crowd, Black Books, and Mighty Boosh (probably others I'm forgetting also). Where do we meet? Fanficrants. Of course. Hah. We both have the same 'ships and yet - never clicked when there actually were posts in the relevant communities.

Of course, I am not in groups for several of these for various reasons I keep to myself as they make me look really bitchy.

Ahh, sketch comedy doesn't really jive with everyone - and they had a pretty different style even for sketch comedy. :P

I'll keep them all to m'self then. Meh. :P

Yeah, I rather enjoy the tiny little fandoms. Which is why I've avoided Top Gear and Doctor Who. I want to get involved with Sherlock, but it's just so goddamn huge, and it scares me for that reason.

Give me the Not Ready For Prime Time Players era of SNL any day. That's the sort of sketch comedy I started out on, and it's the sort that will always stick with me.
