Why this must be read:kaneko wrote one of my favorite Torchwood stories, so when I found this story I read it even though I didn't really knew anything about this fandom other than it was about a bunch of marines and Iraq. And I fell in love with those characters. So richly drawn, it was easy for me to see them in front of my eyes. Having watched the series now, I can only comment how close these characters are to canon.
I loved the sparse writing style, how their emotions shined through, how they communicate not only in words. Love how this seems so real.
