Why this must be read:
This is the Mother of all Numb3rs AUs and it starts with a bang.
It works on a simple premise. What if something went wrong in Don and Charlie's life and they decided to use their powers for Not Good instead of Good?
Don runs a major business/criminal empire with the help of his genius brother Charlie. All the usual people are there; Megan, Colby, David, Ian, Amita, Kit, Millie. Some of them are still on the right side of the law and some of them aren't.
Despite having gone to the Dark Side the characters are all still recognizable as themselves and you want them to win.
You really want them to win as the author lets you tap gleefully into your own little inner criminal mastermind.
This story and the two sequels, Virtue and Sin, are gripping, thrilling, brilliantly written and despite the length you'll take in each one in one big hit and be jonesing for the next really quick.
Vice does have 'cest in it but the author is willing to email a 'cest free or completely porn free edit to anyone who asks. If you really can't handle 'cest ask for this edit because this story needs to be read in any form.
It's all a brilliant, exciting, Walk on the Dark Side.
