Why this must be read:
Jeremy is a dumb teenaged boy searching for something. Damon is covered in warning labels, and will repeatedly let you know that you have to make a choice. (You know you're crawling into your own web, don't you?) Scy does a great job with Damon's hints of psychopathy, with just enough glimmers of humanity to keep you fascinated. Jeremy is going through the process of re-evaluating everything he knows, and Damon's mix of lack of concern and continual challenge provide an odd sort of focus.

I should note that there's D/s and some S/M. It's consensual, but the boundaries aren't the firmest ever.

“You told me that already,” Jeremy said. “It’s not going to scare me off.”

“Is that what you think? That I’m trying to save you from yourself?” Damon asked. He shifted and cupped Jeremy’s head with one hand, fingers scratching at the nape of his neck. “Why should I care?”.
