Why this must be read: Imaginethetruth takes some of Noel's observations about Callum and Hugh on the Hard Core Logo as a starting point for this lovely little story that gets better with each reading, and an ending that makes you want more. Her Hugh in particular stands out: passionate and even tender with those in his circle, while everyone else can cheerfully fuck off.
“What did you just say?” Callum rephrases without blinking.
“Just that,” Noel's voice falters and he clears his throat quickly. “That you and Hugh...”
“What about us?” Callum asks calmly. “Go on. I won't bite you.”
Noel laughs nervously and clears his throat again. “Well, you two just sort of...complete each other,” he looks up desperately. “You know?”
