Why this must be read:
All of author aka Jake's case files and long stories are classics in this fandom, but the one most often mentioned is The Mountain Man. However, I love The Mastodon Diaries more because it stayed with me the longest and I loved the original characters (especially Klizzie and Gini) so much. You have to suspend disbelief a bit to read this story because our duo is sent back in time to the era of that Mastodons roamed the earth, but the strength of this author is she makes it completely believable and real. There isn't a false moment anywhere and you will thoroughly enjoy seeing Mulder and Scully grow and change during this very life altering experience. I highly recommend this story. I couldn't stop thinking about if for weeks after I read it.
