And yet, another short one. This is, more than anything, a Cowley's character study. Is Cowley reflecting about his life, his choices, and his regrets. A very interesting look into his mind and motivations.
Mikey writing makes justice to a man who, IMHO, deserves a little more of love and understanding :P
Now, this is what I mean:

He knew his worth, and it was not in the bedroom. State politics, international intrigue, assassinations, war – in these things, he was confidant of his abilities to come out the victor. Not that he did not know his way around a seduction, but it had been a long time since he had needed to get pillow talk out of an ally or an enemy. He was an elder statesman now, reduced to "appreciating" girls half his age from a distance or taking advantage of random offers from men in nameless pubs. Even that was something of a security breach he simply could not afford to humor most of the time.


So, go to read Worthy by Mikey, and let her know what you think. Maybe if we ask nicely, we could get more stories :)

Excellent piece of writing, which I added to my collection of B/C stories as soon as I saw it published (or I may have got it directly from the author, not sure). I totally agree with your assessment that it makes justice to a man who deserves a little more of love and understanding. Quite my opinion too.

If only! I tried several times, what do you think, knowing my fondness for the character?. But Mickey is a published author now with a writing program ahead to fulfill. Well, we still may keep on insisting...

I hadn't read your comments when I wrote mine. I hope I was not right to think your present professional occupation could be an obstacle to your writing more "Pros" stories (and B/C if possible, of course). I have stopped asking but I still strongly wish to see you coming back to it.

You are totally not right! I can write fanfic as I please, no compunctions. But as anyone who looks at the Den recently can see, writing fanfic took a dive across all my fandoms when grad school started. *weeps*

I still love Cowley and Bodie and hope to eventually get back to it. The fact that Pros is, itself, a fandom with a long history shows me that I'll still be welcome once I return. ♥
