Why this must be read: This is another fic I can't believe hadn't been recced yet. I am very much a fan of what if's, especially what is so-and-so never went to Atlantis. This time it's John who doesn't go, instead going to a farm in Iowa, which he inherited from his grandfather. Along the way he does meet Rodney. Then Rodney finds out Katie Brown is pregnant. And they become an instant family. This (not) so little fic has spawned a whole universe, not just  from Cate. It's John and Rodney as themselves, just on Earth. If you haven't read it, you must!

I also cannot believe that this has not been recced on the van before. I would hope that anyone who is a fan of SGA fanfic would have already read it, but I think even someone who is not familiar would enjoy it too. Cate is such a good writer and the characters and stories in the 'verse are all very well done. Great choice!
