On Ice series: Shattered Dreams by Arianna
Doesn't time fly when you're having fun! Here it is, the 30th already, and time for me to fill up the tank, wash down the van, and hand back the keys ready for the next driver.

Why this must be read: - Ten years previously, a young skater had been seriously injured when he ignored a threat and skated in a top competition. Now skaters are being threatened again...
At first sight this could be classified as an AU, but canon gives us very little positive information about Blair's years pre-Rainier. This story gives us a fascinating insight into a perfectly plausible background for him as he and Jim investigate the threats.
Shattered Dreams is the first in a series of four stories which build into a convincing picture of a world where skating meets crime.

Oh absolutely! You recced several people I'd wanted to do (although not the same stories). I love that authors old and new get the spotlight. So much to discover and enjoy.

It's hard to know what's the best way to save things. I'd always gone with the links, and then found to my dismay that things disappear and sometimes even the Way Back Machine can't help. I know you've sent stories to people in those instances, which has been helpful in keeping the fic "alive".
You might ask at TSStoryfinders or Sen Fic Finders to see if someone knows the URLs for the stories you're looking for. You can also send me a list if you like and I'll be glad to help if I know the answer.
I expect you'll sign up to drive again, since you seem to be having a lot of fun with it! Good.

I got into the way of saving stories right from the start, when I was on pay-for-every-second-of-online-time, so it was download at cheap-rate times and do everything offline. The links didn't matter, because I wasn't going to need them again; I had the stories. It's only since I discovered TSStoryfinders that I started saving the links too.
But I have a lot of stories in mind that I do have working links for - though I might well take you up on your offer.
And yes, I've already signed up again - reckon I'll be up for September or October.
