Why this must be read: "In the spirit of April Fool's Day, feel free to prompt me with fic you think I'd never write," Loz suggested. I proposed a wingfic (a genre I know she doesn't, erm, generally care for). And she went ahead and wrote this masterpiece... as commentfic. To say more is to spoil it, except — it's not like any wingfic you've ever read before. It's subtle, and haunting, and it took my breath away.

You start off pretending that this place the unwitting and unwilling find themselves in is everyday, regular, bound by rules and constraints. You act the innocent. "Thirty-three years in the future? That's where you're saying you're from? I think you should go to the hospital."
