Why this must be read:
Written from Brody's (aka Cupcake's) POV this is a great look at Jim Kirk by a person who doesn't actually like him. McAllister loathes Jim to point of the obsession, but still can't help watching and noticing him.
I like the glimpse of Academy life the author gives us as McAllister thinks of his interactions with Kirk. The small details of the combat instructor using his hated nickname and Jim's ability to piss people off are great and I'm quite enamoured of Cupcake and his grudge holding thought processes!
