Why this must be read:
I am an angst whore. I freely admit this. When it comes to fanfic, I love getting my heart broken into tiny little bleeding pieces. I'm addicted to fic that that makes me sniffle and sob and ache for the characters involved.
And this fic? Bears a lot of responsibility for that addiction. This was one of the first slash stories I ever read in the X-men fandom, and god, it just *broke* me.
This is not a happy ending fic. It's painful and utterly ruthless, and dear *god* it's good. How poi manages to pack so *much* into this fairly short fic utterly mystifies me. This is a hard, painful and realistic look at what being in a relationship with Remy would be like, especially if you're someone like Bobby.
And when some random comment had made him think of that night, made him blush and glance at Remy - Remy looked through him like Winter, from which it was understood that he was not to talk about it and not to think about it; that there would be no long looks, no covert touches, no private jokes. It never happened.
Until it happened again.
