I'm in mourning because I haven't had time yet to start reading the sentinelbigbang fics that are being posted (why aren't there 64 hours in a day? at least right now, when all things seem to need doing at the same time, for some reprehensible reason). But meanwhile, I have some not-quite-as-fresh-off-the-press (but worthwhile, I hope) recs still up my sleeve...

Why this must be read: A fun fic that's pretty much perfect for Thanksgiving (I apologize for the US-centricness of that statement, since I know other countries celebrate Thanksgiving holidays at other times or maybe don't have a specific holiday labeled that way).

For me, the thing with this fic is how well I could see this playing out in front of my eyes; the guys are in character in a... well, sort of non-schmoopy but adorable way, and I just have to laugh, reading this.

BTW, the Fargo hat is also in character. And definitely adorable. :-)

"That's a duck," Jim announced in a matter-of-fact voice, like that of a child identifying objects on flashcards.

Blair's jaw dropped open. "Oh my gosh, Jim! That sentinel sight of yours is just amazing! Only six feet away and you could tell it was a duck!"

Jim tore his gaze away from their visitor long enough to glare at Blair. "Keep it up and you're going to be picking feathers out of your teeth. Now, you've got thirty seconds to explain before you and Daffy get to see who can fly furthest from the balcony."

"Snow."

"NO?"

"No, not 'no.' Snow. The duck's name is Snow, not Daffy. Daffy is black. Snow is white. Geez! Some detective *you* are."

Jim closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Sandburg..."

This was very cute and funny. I'd read some of Iris' stuff, but not this one. It's nice to see the Fargo hat get some respect.

And join the club--I've only read a few of the BBs. I'm hoping the long weekend will allow me to get a few more done. Cheers and thanks for the rec!

I'm still not Big Banging -- RL is making seriously grabby hands at my time right now, not even leaving much time for, say, Little Banging, were that to exist -- I'm just glad I got my Crack Van recs pretty much ready a month or two ago, or I'd be toast right about now... :-)
