Entry tags:
Abaddon's Child by flipperland (Mature)
Fandom: KUROSHITSUJI
Pairing: Ciel/Sebastian; Ciel/Elizabeth
Length: 4981 words
Author on LJ:
flipperland
Author Website: flipperland at AO3
Warnings: Spoilers for the end of the second anime series
Why this must be read:
By no means all of the possible futures for Sebastian and Ciel in the wake of series two leave hope for anything that could be called happy resolution, in even the most generous sense. In “Abaddon's Child,” flipperland looks at a relationship turned to mutual hatred, but still indissoluble, still filled with mutual fascination, and so grown in power and significance that the fact of its existence is destined to shake the universe to its core.
Ciel has become a demon in more than flesh here: the spirit that remains is malevolent and far from his human self. Bleak and riveting, the story gives us an ending that's a tragedy for everyone – the more so, perhaps, because neither this Ciel nor this Sebastian might see it as such.
