I just love Yuletide because I get to read (and learn about) fandoms I’d never come across any other way. So imagine my surprised pleasure when I found Blair playing around in a 2003 Yuletide fic. Well, not exactly playing; more like wandering around in a realm that is confusing the hell out of him. Understandable, since he’s having a close encounter with Delirium:

Blair expected the blue-tinted rainforest he saw once he met his eyes. He did not expect the skinny raver-chick sitting in front of him conducting a regiment of chirping Siamese cats in what appeared to be the last scene of Hamlet, while a circle of miniature men standing around them did the Macarena. This was seriously disappointing. Generally speaking, if he was here he must be having a vision, but this looked more like a trip. Was he stoned? He couldn't remember taking anything, and he'd sworn off anything that might make Jim nervous recently. However he'd gotten here, he needed some kind of spiritual guidance, and Disney cartoons and shaven-headed teenagers with ill-fitting buckskins were not likely to be much help.

He closed his eyes and prepared to do some centering, see if he could reset this vision.

"Hey." Her voice was strange, spanning several different notes with that one word. Blair opened his eyes again and saw her shooing the cats away as though she were embarrassed.

PsychGirl recommended a Sandman cross a couple of years ago but it’s still a very tiny fandom. I’m happy to have found another one in this (to me) incomprehensible but interesting universe. Enjoy.
