Why this must be read:
Author's Summary: Gundam Wing Mobile Suit, Duo, Death comes calling; Duo refuses to go
This is a masterpiece of atmospheric writing and visceral imagery. I literally hear the rattle of Death's breathing, smell the iron tang of blood, and see the long shadow falling over a broken body in its final hours. Jak Frost knows how to set a scene for one of my favorite tropes in Gundam Wing fandom that unfortunately isn't written that often, Duo meeting his name sake, Death. Jak's interpretation of Duo becoming Death's avatar, Death incarnate really, on Earth is just fascinating as hell and makes me wish for more in this universe. Another lovely example of the variety still being pumped out in GW fandom and the intriguing new twists on older ideas.
