This is a very nice example of the stellar hurt/comfort offerings in Merlin fandom. It's very straight forward, no deep life-scarring angst, no non-con, no permanent maiming or scarring. Just Merlin being a bit bumbling with Arthur's sharp implements and cutting too deep. Arthur's all brave and brash front covering a terrified fear of losing a loved one. Gaius is there to heal and then there's cuddles and comfort all around. For when you want a simple "OMG, I need me some hurt!Merlin, protective!Arthur, and gooey snuggly A/M!", this fic will please the palate.
