Why this must be read:
When the Fringe timeline was reset at the end of season 3, it took awhile for all the consequences to make themselves known. But for some fans, that list of questions included a burning desire to know what happened to Nick Lane. If he hadn't been part of the Cortexikid Rescue Squad, he wouldn't have died. This is one of the fics that took on the challenge of answering that question before canon provided a different take.
