Summary: I don't even read canon, but I read this and really loved it. Why? Well, it was so in character that I could picture absolutely everything. But that in itself doesn't make me read canon. I think it was just that it was all about Merlin and Arthur...Uther has asked if Merlin will be Arthur's Lord of the Bedchamber...something that Merlin doesn't quite get the concept of.After all, doesn't he already pretty much do everything for Arthur already? It is really very charming and sweet to see how very seriously Merlin takes his duties to Arthur, even though he knows the prince is a prat who enjoys ordering him about. Their unique relationship is very evident. And although there is much humor here, there is also quite a bit of a touching beauty, as well as hot, hot sexual tension. While Arthur enjoys making Merlin clean up after him, he does not want to take advantage of him 'that way,' and the two strike up an agreement to pretend they are lovers to appease Uther. Then Merlin decides he kind of wants to be Arthur's lover and begins to tease his prince...publicly, with interesting results.
