Summary:
A friend of Blair’s calls the PD to let Jim know that his partners' been called out of town and won’t be back until late afternoon, unfortunately due to a bad connection the garbled message leads Jim to the conclusion that Blair’s been kidnapped, and unless he backs off on one of the case's he’s working on the caller is going to kill him. Jim has no idea which case the caller is talking about and so begins his day from hell.
Why this must be read:
As a reader we already know that Blair’s safe and sound so watching the stress and turmoil of the other characters as they set out on their man hunt is a fun and fresh experience; one that has you smirking like a fool one moment and then feeling sorry for them in the next. What I find most appealing about this piece is the fast pace and the way in which the author presents it in a fun and angsty manner. This is an entertaining and worthwhile read.
