Why this must be read:
Alt!Lincoln is very often portrayed in fic as the uber confident and highly sexed up for anything guy, the veritable little black dress of the fandom. That's fun to read and a perfectly reasonable reading of the character but it is nice to see in this short an alternate reading that's almost the opposite, purposefully celibate Lincoln. It's angsty and also kinky in it's own unexpected way.
