A Kiss is Just a Kiss by Tallis (R)

Fandom: THE PROFESSIONALS
Pairing: B/D
Length: short story
Author on LJ: Unknown
Author Website: Tallis' stories at Circuit Archive
Why this must be read: Tallis has only written three Pros stories that I know of, but imho she captures the lads perfectly, and most especially in all their complexity and passion. Her Bodie and Doyle are individuals with specific ideas and ideals, characters and expectations. They believe what they believe, and with the kind of passion that shows deep reasoning behind it, even when explanations are not specifically given. What seems to be a few words in a sentence contains a wealth of understanding and description, so that we see, hear, and feel everything that her lads do.

I'm not usually a big fan of stories that take us through the episodes themselves - I have my own way of seeing what happens on screen, and I don't like to be given the interpretation - but somehow A Kiss is Just a Kiss works beautifully for me as part of the episode Involvement. It adds scenes that make sense of what I have seen, rather than explaining them for me - in this ep specifically, but in others too. There is no one for the lads but each other - whether they know it yet or not...

And did I mention that it's hot? *g*
